form of the game has been introduced into the PE programs at elementary and middle schools in Indian River County. In 2008, the Lady Sharks Rugby Team at Sebastian River High School became the first girls’ varsity rugby team in the nation. Lady Sharks have enjoyed success at State and Regional level as well as participation in the National Championships on two occasions when they traveled to Utah and Missouri respectively. In 2015, a boy’s rugby program was also established at SRHS and is quickly growing in popularity and size. Over the course of the girls program at SRHS, 11 girls have received full 4 year college scholarships to play rugby. The total sum of these scholarships exceeds $1.25 million. is registered as a 501c3 corporation with the Internal Revenue Service.
