MAN ONE @ CHAFFEY COMMUNITY MUSEUM OF ART
My newest large scale pieces are on display at the museum (much like our Latino experience) which is heavily layered and textured. The work explores subject matters that unfortunately continue to affect our communities in Southern California and beyond. I also have a couple of short films running on repeat in the multi media room of the museum. I invite you to visit and encounter the works in person, the way they were meant to be seen.

My work is on display alongside two other great artists Cosmè Cordova & Joe Ded. On view thru July 26, 2026.

Out of respect for privacy per the family’s wishes during this difficult time, I’ve waited a little over a week to announce the passing of my dear friend and incredible artist and educator Pablo Cristi who passed unexpectedly.

Pablo was an incredibly talented and humble artist. So smart and witty, he challenged you in a quiet and soft spoken manner but always with a smile. He didn’t seek the spotlight but he was usually the smartest guy in the room. He was an arts educator up in the Bay Area for many years and he loved his students and they loved him. He exhibited numerous times at my Crewest Gallery over the years.

My very first time in London it was just us two and we had a great time walking the streets, eating Chinese food, and soaking up the art and culture. In 2011, we became brothers in Derry, Northern Ireland where he invited me to join him for a 3 week residency at the Derry Playhouse. We worked to unite the Derry youth by mentoring them to paint murals and participate in workshops to bring respect & unity. Pablo was a master at doing that. The young people gravitated towards him and he knew exactly how to motivate them and guide them in a positive direction.

I’m gonna miss our conversations, short texts and his subtle jabs at me calling me “Old Man” & “Viejito”. My heart goes out to Natsumi, Isabel, Stephen and all his other family, friends, and students. We’ll miss you Pablo, but we’ll never forget you because you left an undeniable mark in our hearts, souls and walls all around the world. Till we meet again my friend.
