🔗 The Connection That Controls Everything

A fundamentally flawless connection to the golf club doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through intention and repetition. Two questions every serious player should ask themselves:

👉 Do you take your hands off the club in between practice swings and shots? If the answer is no… you’re missing an opportunity to reset. Great players rebuild their grip every single time so the connection is consistent and neutral.

👉 Do you have a grip routine?

Elite players develop a repeatable grip process they rehearse constantly on the range. The goal is simple: when you step onto the course, the routine is automatic and the club sits in your hands exactly the same way every time.

The grip is the only connection you have to the golf club. If that connection changes… everything else in the swing has to compensate.

✔️ Build a process
✔️ Rehearse it every practice session
✔️ Trust it on the course

Train the connection. Train the control.

☠️ WEEK FIVE STANDINGS
GENEVA NATIONAL (PALMER) ☠️

Jose & Hay at 159 — at this point we’re checking their bags for performance-enhancing launch monitors 🔍

Sean & David at 160 — one shot back and already rehearsing the “we would’ve won if…” speech 🎤

Oliver & Kevin at 171 — quietly climbing while everyone else is busy triple-bogeying par-5s.

Now let’s talk about the rest of you…

If you’re under 180 👉 contenders
180–199 👉 emotionally fragile
200+ 👉 just here for the simulator heat and adult beverages 🍻

Some teams showed up to compete.
Some showed up to vibe.
And a few showed up like they thought this was Wii Golf.

Reminder: blaming the putting settings, elevation, lie penalties, or “that shot would’ve carried in real life” does NOT lower your score 😂

Week 6 predictions:
💣 Someone shoots lights-out
🧨 Someone rage-quits a hole
At the end of the day, it’s not about winning…
…it’s about making sure your buddies finish below you so you can screenshot the standings and send it every morning until next week 😎

Who’s making a run… and who’s already mentally preparing their “I didn’t even try” excuse?

Escape the sand with confidence ⛳️🏖️

Struggling in bunkers? Let’s simplify it and turn that hazard into a scoring opportunity 👇

✅ Build a wide, stable base — dig your feet in and feel grounded. Stability allows speed.
✅ Set the handle low — this exposes the bounce so the club glides instead of digging. Let the club do the work 🪄
✅ Establish your hand & wrist angles early — keep the clubface square-to-slightly open in the backswing for consistent loft and spin.
✅ Strike the sand under the ball — don’t obsess over “hitting behind it.” Enter the sand with commitment and let the splash carry the ball out 🌊
✅ Match your body rotation and speed to the club’s momentum — accelerate through, don’t quit on it. Keep turning and go with it 💥

Good bunker players aren’t trying to help the ball… they’re moving sand with authority 😎

Practice this sequence and you’ll turn “uh-oh” into “tap-in” real quick.
