Happy Vasakhi and Khalsa sajjan day!!

While in my village Aklia Jalal in 1975’s, I remember Vasakhi!
Me and my brother Pammi start gathering change ( 5,10 and 25 paise) before Vasakhi. My mom gives us additional one rupee on Vasakhi day. Then we walk on dirt road to nearest village Guru sar. With couple of rupees and change in the pocket I consider myself walking a rich. At the mela we buy toys , eat sweets and pakoras. And also gamble with marble games. At the end of the day with leftover money buy pakoras for my BIBI (mom) wrapped in news paper and soaked in Chutney. And remember my mom appreciating that I never forget about her!
