With that in mind, we’re sharing an overview today of key steps:

🚓 Call the Police - A police report is essential when filing an insurance claim.
🪪 Exchange Information - Collect any details the other driver can provide, like their address and phone number.
📷 Take Photos - Document the damage to your vehicle as long as it's safe to do so.
📝 Document Everything - Note down everything about the incident, including VIN numbers and license plates.
🤐 Be Mindful of Your Words - Anything you say can be noted in the police report. Avoid admitting fault.
💵 Decline Any Cash Offers - Accepting money on the spot can complicate your ability to pursue further claims.
📩 File a Claim Promptly - Contact your independent insurance agent.

While it might be challenging to recover costs from an uninsured driver, policies, especially those with add-ons like collision coverage and personal injury protection (PIP), are designed to prevent complete loss and cover additional expenses.
