You cannot feel better if you don't work on your nutrition! Often it is returning to basics like, eat more real food and balance the blood sugar.
Had a new client today who, as they say, 'let themselves go'. Gained weight, stopped going to the gym, stopped exercising, eating junk.
And as they say 'I know better!' But they came to work with me for the accountability, but also because she has seen that I walk the walk, and talk the talk. I met them where they were.
After reviewing the food logs, explaining my Ideal Plate theory, then we worked on timing of meals, plus going over their actual breakfasts and lunches, sometimes the rest of the day and made adjustments and suggestions on how to balance the meals.
Some were healthy but zero carbs. Others were tons of carbs and zero vegetables. When we went over the logs, suddenly there was that realization ...
'oh, if I don't do breakfast right with adequate protein, or my healthy lunch without carbs, I see my cravings for carbs and sugar get out of control!'
And we created a simple plan with next steps for the next 2 weeks until the next session.
What started as 'I need to pay you to be accountable' turned into 'I knew I picked the right person. God led me here for a reason".
Once they could 'see' the pattern for themselves, then I helped them understand how to manage it better by building a better ideal meal 🙂
below is NOT my ideal plate...i need someone to create that for me! anyone?? www.nutritioninmotion.net

Truth is acid blockers are addressing the symptom, but they are NOT addressing the cause or the underlying issue leading to the problem.
Truth is, you want to rebuild vs kill the problem.
While yes, you do have an acid problem, it is really a stress issue and a too-rushed-to-eat problem.
So many of my clients who have chronic GI issues started with that simple a id blocker, ppi (proton pimp inhibitor) and because the symptom goes away, then they think all is golden.
But reality is, it IS a bandaid and bad one at that.
Years later, when they now have IBS or other autoimmune issue, we order the BiomeFx stool test, the results always show mouth bacteria in your gut microbiome. And that causes not only the regular GI issues - gas, bloating, flatulence, constipation alternating with diarrhea, etc. But that imbalance causes inflammation to the gut lining, increases the permeability and then food sensitivities, auto-immune issues and SIBO can be what you have.
The stomach acid is there to kill naturally the mouth bugs, but it also helps you digest food.
If you are stressed, you will NOT digest your food. You will NOT produce enough stomach acid to digest food or keep the sphincter closed. You will NOT produce enough digestive enzymes, your pancreas nor gall bladder will NOT release enough enzymes or bile to digest carbs, proteins or fats.
If you are stressed you are NOT chewing your food into a puree and you are trying to make your body digest chunks of food. It will NOT work - that is not how your body is designed!
Truth is, you need to rebuild the foundation of the microbiome, and with acid reflux, we also have to rebuild Mindful eating principles into your diet.
Without those 2 steps, you will not get better.
If you have chronic GI issues or just the acid reflux/ gerd, call me because you don't need a pill to mask the symptom, you need a rebuild of how you manage stress and be present to eating your meals. really that simple.
