We are deeply saddened by the recent loss of life in Grand Rapids, where a shooting has once again impacted the safety and well-being of our community. At FitKids360, we recognize gun violence not only as a criminal justice issue, but as a public health crisis, one that affects the physical, mental, and emotional health of children, families, and entire communities.

For many of the families we serve, particularly those already facing health disparities, these events compound existing barriers to wellness and stability. We stand with our community in mourning, and we remain committed to advancing health equity, fostering safe and supportive spaces for children and their families, and advocating for policies and partnerships that address violence as the urgent public health issue it is.

Now more than ever, we must work collectively to ensure that every person has the opportunity to grow up safe, healthy, and supported.
