🚨Help give Big Bird a chance at a pain free life

We first saw Big Bird on the euthanize list at a high kill shelter at only 4yrs old. We noticed that he had Microphthalmia, small eye that was sunken in. We knew that wasn't a life threatening issue, for the most part it’s cosmetic. We tagged him to keep him from being euthanized.

When he got to us in Oregon is when we received all of his medical records which included Xrays. The x-rays showed that he had a broken pelvis and hip, which we were not aware of. Our vet believes that the pelvis is a healed fracture so there's no fixing it. However if we can get him surgery for his hip it may relieve pain, decrease risk of arthritis and increase quality of life. We currently have 2 estimates, one is for FHO surgery to fix the hip and the other is for an amputation of the leg. If possible we are hoping to save the leg if that is what's best for Big Bird to have the best life. All donations will go towards surgery and after care while he heals. Once a full recovery is made we will work on finding the best Furever home for him.
