MONDAY UPDATE: The case against Katherine Curtis remains under seal. She has not had her initial court hearing. A 72 hour hold was filed so it could be Wednesday before she has her initial hearing.
This is the official news release from IMPD on my story yesterday. I have now talked with more than a dozen people who say they were given ketamine and at times told to take it home with them. At least 3 pharmacists reached out to me saying Curtis was banned all over Central Indiana.
Much more to come on this through out the day.
IMPD Task Force Officers with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Tactical Diversion Section arrested 34-year-old Katherine Curtis following an 8-month investigation into fraudulent prescriptions.
Earlier this year, detectives received information from several pharmacies that suspected Curtis, a licensed nurse practitioner, was overprescribing medications and writing fraudulent scripts.
Detectives gathered key information from pharmacies and conducted several interviews. From the evidence, detectives believe that not only was Curtis overprescribing medications, but that she was also writing fraudulent scripts and writing prescriptions under other nurse practitioners’ identities.
On Thursday, October 23, 2025, IMPD detectives, with assistance from the Carmel Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA, served search warrants at Curtis’s office and her home. Additional evidence was recovered, and detectives arrested Curtis on the preliminary charges below:
- Possession of a Narcotic Drug
- Dealing by a licensed Practitioner
- Identity Deception
-Obtaining a controlled substance by Fraud
