I started my garden as a way of increasing my physical activity safely with my EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) and mental therapy. Later, I learned the truth about the food system, and it spurred me to grow the garden in size and production slowly moving toward a food forest model that is a little more self-sustaining. I now have 2 small fruit orchards, 2 berry patches, have gone from a 30×30 in-ground space to an 70×35 raised bed space (to protect from all the underground rodents that kept robbing me!), getting 3 bee hives this week, and plans for more permaculture areas--all on my little 1/2 acre within city limits....

Oh, man! Butter chicken with fresh garlic butter rice, naan bread, and one of my garden cucumbers with a side of cantaloupe agua fresca from a farmers' market melon. Yummy 😋

Sorry that I've been gone for so long. I was just about to make a post (probably about something happening in the garden) when mom passed away suddenly in the middle of the night.
