Lots of Growing 12/03/2025

Lots of Growing

There has been a lot of growth on my little "farm" since the last time I wrote. We have honeybees now! I was surprised to find out that our state considers them livestock. This is probably not native to our country. We were able to collect two honey harvests from the girls and ended up with about four and a half gallons of honey from two hives over the summer....

Growing More 05/29/2025

I started my garden as a way of increasing my physical activity safely with my EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) and mental therapy. Later, I learned the truth about the food system, and it spurred me to grow the garden in size and production slowly moving toward a food forest model that is a little more self-sustaining. I now have 2 small fruit orchards, 2 berry patches, have gone from a 30×30 in-ground space to an 70×35 raised bed space (to protect from all the underground rodents that kept robbing me!), getting 3 bee hives this week, and plans for more permaculture areas--all on my little 1/2 acre within city limits....

She had had some type of mystery illness that we never could figure out. All of her tests came back "normal" except for her ejection fraction (heart function)....
