Lee County officials scramble to catch up with garbage collection backlog TUPELO — Lee County residents may notice a backup in garbage collection as officials scramble to catch up with the workload while short-staffed.

Lee County, the City of Tupelo, and the Tombigbee Valley Water Management District recently finished a joint project to stabilize this ditch bank located near The Villages subdivision within the city.

While the County normally doesn’t cover projects like this within the city limits; I’m happy that we, the city, and the water management board could come together to fix this much needed problem in our area.
