Test Patch Studio

Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 21st, and we’re celebrating the man behind the woodwork at Test Patch Studio: my dad, Gilbert Baack.

Here he is in the shop with a few of his pieces. He’ll be 92 years old next month (🤫) and he still wakes up every day for a good project. Gil has been working with wood since he was a kid, and he brings a lifetime of experience as a third generation hardware store owner and master creative. You can see all of it in his hands, and in every board, bowl, and lazy susan he makes for us. Whimsical, beautiful, useful, and timeless.
