As Oklahoma child care centers navigate ongoing funding challenges, strong partnerships between universities and early childhood programs are more important than ever. Through OU-Tulsa’s Early Childhood Education Institute (ECEI), local Research Training Partners like Crosstown Learning Center and The Preschool at Kirk Crossing provide valuable opportunities for staff to practice child assessments and classroom quality observations.

In return, partner sites receive incentives and specialized materials designed to support the use of research-based tools that improve outcomes for young children and families.

Yesterday marked OU-Tulsa’s first distribution day of the season as part of the OKC Food Hub's Farm Share program! Participants filled their boxes with locally grown leafy greens, strawberries and other fresh seasonal produce while learning more about their health through informative materials and the veggie meter, which measures carotenoid levels linked to fruit and vegetable intake.

We’re excited to help connect our community with fresh, local foods while supporting Oklahoma farmers and encouraging healthier lifestyles. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this first pickup day — we can’t wait for the next one!
