So an update is in order.

Soon, ish, I hope. It is not going to be cheap. It seems the stowaway mouse did more damage than I thought. I did wash the mb when it happened. But now 2 months later, she just won't boot. The bath could have done it too...
The board is 3.5 years old. That means new everything. I need lots of slots, and lots of ports. Anyone have a mb they like for big video? I've seen a few with thunderbolt ports. Fast raid is a must for loading decks in Arena. I'm thinking a ssd stripe for show clip cache and as much magnetic as I can afford.
I always turn to Asus first. Their workstation boards are hard to top.
