#neverforget It happened once, and it could happen again. One of the powerful things resulting from 9/11 was the coming together of our nation. Suddenly it was us against them and for a few short months, we were just all Americans. Differences were momentarily put aside. Love of country grew. We all remembered what a special place America was and how fortunate we were to live in the greatest country in the history of the planet. Of course, it didn't last long. And, today we seem to be a nation divided, perhaps more than at any time since the Civil War. It would be my prayer today that it won't take another tragedy for us to come together as Americans - to realize that we can disagree, even to the point of peaceful protest, but do so respectfully. I don't have to share your beliefs and values and you don't have to share mine, but we should, as humans and as countrymen, at the very least, respectfully agree to disagree. The truth is that ultimately your freedom depends on my freedom and my freedom depends on your freedom. So how about today, tomorrow and in the coming weeks, months and years, we rejoice in and respect our differences and remember we are one nation with liberty and justice for ALL!
