Kalmat Foundation began with a simple observation and a powerful purpose. During a visit to Sri Lanka in 2005, our founders saw children walking barefoot to school on hot roads because their families could not afford shoes. They realized that the cost of shoes, books, and school supplies was preventing many children from staying in school.

Today, Kalmat's mission is to end the cycle of poverty through education by providing students with the essentials they need to learn. Every pair of shoes, every book, and every school supply helps a child stay in school and build a brighter future. Together, we are creating opportunities—one student at a time.
