When Kelly's son told her he had found a gym that could guarantee she'd be able to get off the toilet as she got older, she decided to give Starting Strength Tulsa a try.

It may sound simple, but it's one of the most important goals of strength training. Squats build the strength needed for everyday life, from standing up out of a chair to climbing stairs, carrying groceries, and maintaining independence for years to come.

We love seeing our clients discover that getting stronger isn't just about the weight on the bar. It's about living life with confidence, capability, and freedom.

Thank you, Kelly, for sharing your experience with us.

Today we celebrate 250 years of the American spirit.

At Starting Strength Tulsa, we’re grateful for the freedoms that allow us to build strong bodies, strong families, and strong communities. We believe strength is more than what you lift. It’s the character to serve, the courage to stand firm, and the commitment to those you love.

From our family to yours, Happy Independence Day. God bless America, and thank you to all who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

There’s something powerful about a parent leading by example.

Cheryl brought her daughter Rachel in to train together at Starting Strength Tulsa, and watching generations of strong women put in the work side by side is what it’s all about. Rachel’s first session showed exactly what happens when fitness, discipline, and athleticism become part of the family culture.

Strong parents raise strong kids. Not just physically, but mentally too. The habits you build, the standards you keep, and the example you set matter more than words ever will.

We love seeing families train together, push each other, and invest in long-term health and strength.
