*TPD Press Release on double fatal collision*

On June 14, 2023 at approximately 10:56 PM the Tulare Police Department dispatch center received a call regarding a traffic collision that occurred in the area of H Street and Inyo Ave in the City of Tulare.
Officers responded and located a white Ford Focus on its side in the Sno-White parking lot. The second vehicle, a silver Chevy Traverse was in the middle of the roadway.
The Ford Focus was occupied by the driver, 22 year old male of Tulare and a passenger, 23 year old female of Tulare. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Chevy Traverse, 38 year old male of Tulare, was responsive and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The Tulare Police Department Traffic Unit responded to conduct an investigation into what led to the collision.
Based on the investigation it was determined that the white Ford Focus was traveling southbound on H Street and after stopping at the posted stop sign, entered the intersection of H Street and Inyo Ave. The Ford Focus was struck by the Chevy Traverse which, was traveling eastbound on Inyo Ave. The impact caused the Ford Focus to overturn and come to rest in the Sno-White parking lot.
The names of the deceased will not be released at this time, pending next of kin notification. The driver of the Chevy Traverse is cooperative. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor in causing the collision.
