Seth Standley Finishes SCCT Season With Top-10!

11/8/24… Stockton, California: Saturday Night, Seth Standley was in action at the Stockton Dirt Track. It was the final Sprint Car Challenge Tour race of the season & Seth looked to end the season with a strong run.

He kicked the night off with time trials. Seth was the 11th of 24 Winged 360 Sprint Cars to hit the track. Going out towards the middle of the field, Seth was able to lay down a time of 12.339 which was enough for him to time in 8th quickest overall.

That set him up to start his heat race on the pole. From the pole, Seth was quickly able to jump out to the lead & go on to win the heat race. That put him in the dash where he started on the outside of the front row in 2nd. He ended up falling backwards & finishing in 6th.

Seth entered the feature & was slated to start on the outside of row three in the 6th spot. Seth was able to stay inside of the top-10 for most of the feature. When the checkered flag fell, Seth was able to finish in the 10th spot & round out the top-10.

Overall it was a good night for Seth & a good way to end the Sprint Car Challenge Tour season. Seth was able to bring home a top-10 finish against solid field of Sprint Cars.

10/31/24… Merysville, California: Saturday Night, Josh Gillis was in action at Marysville Raceway for the Sprint Spooktacular race. It was a big night of racing with multiple divisions of Sprint Cars in action.

Josh kicked off wingless sprint action with his heat race. He’d roll off from the outside of row three in 6th & went to work. He was able to make his way forwards to 2nd. He’d end up falling back to the 3rd spot & finish the heat race there.

He entered the feature in a good spot, as he rolled off from the inside of row two in the 3rd spot. He took the lead on the initial start but a caution caused a full restart. From there he’d fall to 4th & hang around there for a while. Josh then got caught up in a wreck & had to tag the back, where he’d have to make his way up to 9th & finish there.

“Drew a 77 so started 6th in heat three. Got up to 2nd, then lost a spot & finished 3rd. Started 3rd in the feature, took the lead on lap one, but had an immediate caution & had to do a complete restart. Ran in 4th for awhile until I got caught up in someone’s wreck, went to the back, ended up 9th.”

Overall it was a solid night for Josh but had a tough ending. He had really good car & was battling up front before being caught up in another person’s mess & ending his chance to grab a win. However, he was still able to salvage a top-10 finish.
