One of the first wildlife photos I took 35yrs ago happened to be a dove resting on a powerline. I went out into the backyard waiting for Starlink to launch and was stunned when I saw this little fellow just chillin on the powerline. Had to take the shot. Thank you TPG for sharing this photo

I love the blue light of twilight; its so peaceful and serene. That's when I made this image. It was the end of a long, late afternoon shoot there and I was thinking about heading out, but then I remembered one of the lessons I've written about in my blog: never give up on twilight. So I hung out and found this composition. It has all the elements I love about the desert landscape: soft mountains shrouded in shadow, a painted sky and a stand of stoic saguaro. Shot with Sony A7r2 and Sony 70 to 200 f4 lens: f6.3 at 125th of a second. Thanks for the opportunity to show my work. If you have the space, I'd love a plug for my blog: https://ernestjschweit.substack.com.

The Bird of Paradise takes me back to my childhood growing up watching them grow and bloom in my backyard. So colorful, they symbolize flight, freedom, faithfulness and paradise. Their flowers remind me of birds wings, and so it's no coincidence that I also love birds and birdwatching! This photo was taken in Newport Beach, California, taken with a Canon R5, RF 100-400 lens.
