Haury Program is honored to have been invited to participate in and co-sponsor the Sacred Waters Gathering held June 22-25 in Isleta Pueblo in New Mexico. We were glad to share space, stories and inspiration with our U of A colleagues, Restoring Balance Collaborative , UA Indigenous Resilience Center and ITEP as well as meet new partners and friends. We are honored to be able to continue to fund conversations around “ethical space” as well as support the panel featuring Madam Chairwoman Flores and former Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland. We are walking away grounded and committed to supporting Indigenous-led water projects.

Thank you to all who came out to our 2026 Perspectives on Indigenous Resilience: 2025 Graduate Research Grantees Showcase & Haury Networking Event! We heard presentations from seven The University of Arizona graduate students from various fields, ranging from Indigenous public health, water quality, food sovereignty, land dispossession to education. Over fifty people attended in person, including a group of high school students hosted by Native American Initiatives, and fifteen more folks attended via Zoom. We appreciate all the kind support and encouragement offered to graduate students, as well as want to thank all the faculty who serve as advisors to the students. After the showcase, we shared a relaxed and fun networking lunch, and we appreciate being in community with you all! The recording of the event will be available soon.
