Pup came to the shelter last summer after he lost his owner. Severely overweight and with some significant health challenges, he was lucky to land in a loving foster home right away. During his time with his foster, he has lost a tremendous amount of weight and thanks to help from Friends of PACC, he is visiting our neighbor, A Loyal Companion. There he gets swim therapy and has learned to use his doggy wheelchair, which has dramatically improved his quality of life. His wheels are part of the package deal with this great boy. He's a funny guy--sometimes he likes other dogs, sometimes not so much, so meeting any potential doggy pals would be his preference before he says yes to heading home. He also seems to have an affinity for cat toys over most dog toys. He didn't have access to toys prior to coming to the shelter, so that might have a bit to do with it. It's quite funny to watch him play with a flopping cat toy. This guy has a tremendous personality once he gets to know you! He's looking for a loving home to spend all of his golden tomorrows. He is available to adopt or transfer to a new foster, and his adoption/fostering includes a session at A Loyal Companion to help you learn how to work with his cart and harness. It's surprisingly easy, and he is completely cooperative with the process.

Boots arrived at the shelter recently after her owner passed. The shelter says that she is friendly and accepts pets, but that she needs to learn how to walk on a leash. She is shy and nervous, so someone who has experience with those behaviors in a shelter dog would be helpful. She really needs a calm place to call home where she will learn that she is safe and loved. If she hangs around long enough, we will update her info as we learn more about her. She is available to adopt or foster.

Mary left PACC on Thursday as a foster while she is undergoing treatment for URI. Hopefully being in a home environment rather than the shelter will aid in her recovery. We wish her the very best and hope she finds her forever home quickly!
