About General Tchefary & The Soldiers:
General Tchefary, born Ibrahim Toure, is an international African roots reggae singer, songwriter, and performer from Côte d'Ivoire, now based in Tucson, Arizona. A direct decendant of the legendary Samory Touré, his music carries messages of struggle, hope and conciousness, blending African melodies with reggae rhythms.

KXCI Presents! Fruit Bats at La Rosa this Friday, as well as an acoustic solo radio session around 5pm on The Home Stretch KXCI.
Over the course of his now 25-year career under the moniker Fruit Bats, most of Eric D. Johnson’s output has been the product of patience and fine-tuning. His songs, to borrow a phrase, are slow growers, given life on albums that encompass long stretches of time and memory. The Fruit Bats band, whom Johnson has spent over a decade building into one of the most in-demand live acts in indie rock, Johnson set out to capture sessions for a new album with “the sound of this band I constantly marvel at, the feeling of being in a room with musicians you love and trust enough to let them cook.” Listening to the new release, The Landfill, it’s not hard to understand why: simply put, this band smokes.
