We have a new class of trainees starting today so you know what that means…. Had to get Preserved in Thyme LLC to make their amazing brookies to start the day off right! Thank you so much for making them our training room smells amazing and I’m sure they taste delicious.

🌟🎉 : Today we celebrate freedom and reflect on the significant moment in history when the last enslaved African Americans learned of their emancipation. Let’s honor this day with joy and a commitment to equality and justice for all.

🚨 Did you know:

Juneteenth marks the day, June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the end of the Civil War, ensuring the freedom of all slaves in the state.

The period after Juneteenth is known as the ‘Scatter.’ - Undeterred by the recommendation to remain in place, many former slaves left the area during the original reading. In the following weeks formerly enslaved people left Texas in great numbers to find family members and make their way in the postbellum United States.

🎯 Celebrate:

1) Participate in local Juneteenth festivals, parades, and educational events.

2) Support Black-owned businesses and artists as a way to celebrate the culture and contributions of the African American community.

3) Reflect on the ongoing journey toward civil rights and take action by engaging in community service or advocacy work.
