The company gained popularity in the market with the release of the original VLTOR Modstock. In 2004, VLTOR was bought out by a precision sheetmetal and CNC machining company called Abrams Airborne Manufacturing, Inc. Founded in 1965 in Tucson, Arizona, AAMI provided a highly capable manufacturing facility that led to the rapid expansion of the VLTOR product line. In the past decade, VLTOR release

Despite the severe tungsten shortage, we’ve been cranking out more VLTOR A5 buffers than ever. Navigating the logistics for this has been quite tricky. Doing our best to keep you guys supplied. Huge run just went out to MidwayUSA, OpticsPlanet, Revival Defense, Primary Arms Online, Brownells, Inc., RSR Group, DirtyBird Industries, and more.

Here's an example of a build utilizing the VLTOR FRC-12 handguard from our last post. A few of you messaged wanting to see it in the context of a complete SBR.

A lot of you are sleeping on what is arguably the better of the two A5 receiver extension tubes we make. And we just made a whole bunch of them. Generally speaking, our most popular tube is our 7-position RE-A5 (receiver extension - A5), but the one we are talking about today is our 6-position RE-A5SR (receiver extension - A5 short rail). It’s the exact same length and depth as the 7-position tube, and serves the same purpose - the difference is in the length of the indexing rail on the underside of the tube. The choice on which tube to go with is majorly dictated by which stock you’ll be running. The RE-A5SR is better for a large number of the stocks on the market. If you’ve ever run a standard body stock (VLTOR Imod, LMT/B5 Sopmod, etc) on our 7-position RE-A5, you’ve noticed it can’t collapse to position #1 on the tube. Only extra large stocks like the VLTOR Emod can accomplish that. This is NOT true of the RE-A5SR tube. Standard body stocks can fully collapse to position #1 on that tube.

Pic 2 shows the Emod collapsed to position 1 on the RE-A5, next to the smaller Imod collapsed to 1 on the RE-A5SR. Pic 3 shows an LMT Sopmod collapsed as far as it can go on the RE-A5 - and as you can see it stops at position 2, unable to reach position 1. Pic 4 shows the same LMT Sopmod successfully collapsed all the way to position 1 on the RE-A5SR. Pic 5 shows the undersides of the tubes so you can see the difference in the rail lengths.

There are more nuances to this, but this is the general picture. A whole heck of a lot of you would be better served by the RE-A5SR tube. We’ll make a video to help showcase in more detail.
