Calling the listing agent doesn't automatically mean you'll save money. The listing agent already has a fiduciary duty to the seller. Depending on the situation, you may end up in a dual agency relationship or simply have no one representing your interests. Every transaction is different, and commissions are negotiable. But before assuming you'll save money by going directly to the listing agent, ask yourself one simple question: Who is representing me?
