HVCC Advanced Manufacturing Technology

f precision metal, composite and plastic manufacturing, the student will learn basic and advanced principles in the set-up and operation of machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders and saws, as well as programming, set-up and operation of Haas Automation computerized (CNC) machine tools. Also included is training in quality control and assurance (Metrology), computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) with industry popular software. The Advanced Manufacturing Technology courses are offered both day and evening. The coursework from this program satisfies the educational requirements for New York State Machinist, Toolmaker, CNC Machinist and CNC Programmer apprenticeships. The placement rate prior to graduating approaches 95 percent, while a number of companies in the region provide scholarships covering books, tuition and related fees as well as part-time jobs for students in the program that lead to full-time employment upon graduation.
