Hyperosmolar stress cut corneal barrier integrity by up to 69%—but L-carnitine helped restore function. Using Z-Theta, researchers showed:
🔹NaCl stress reduced TER by 30–69% and slowed migration
🔹 L-carnitine partially rescued TER and improved repair.
🔹 ECIS enabled automated wounding and real-time recovery tracking, outperforming scratch assays.
