In lieu of a pre-circulated paper, the speaker asks that you peruse this description of the AUMI Together project that he will be speaking about: https://aumiapp.com/aumitogether.php
He also invites you to download the current version of the Adaptive Use Musical Instrument (AUMI) and give it a try. http://aumiapp.com/ AUMI is a free download instrument that is intended to be playable by everyone. It adapts to body movement. Henry Lowengard is the iOS developer for AUMI (for iPads and iPhones) and is currently developing a browser-based version of AUMI that will work on any device that connects to the internet and that has a camera. He adds, "If anyone is curious about the more technical aspects, and I hope someone is, there's the AUMI Together Wiki up on github: https://github.com/jhhl/AUMI-Together/wiki." Seminar directors and moderators of this session Ray Mizumura-Pence and Sherrie Tucker are long-time AUMI users and members of KU AUMI-InterArts, and will share some of the ways that AUMI has been used at KU and in Lawrence to facilitate and enhance improvisational music-making across abilities.
