Here’s a slug I made over the summer. My son got really into slugs and could literally spot them from a mile away. If only I had a nickel for every time I heard “there’s a slug!” Or “did you see that slug?”

I’m working on being more mindful in my art making, and this is one example. Paying closer attention and taking inspiration from seemingly simple occurrences day to day. I’m finding that it can also a way for me to remember simple things that I might have otherwise forgotten…like my son’s slug obsession one summer.
