As I sit at the computer, there is a winter storm warning. It may be as much as 2 feet by the time it is over. I don't usually pay too much attention to these warnings except last March 2nd, there was a warning and they were 100% correct. Hopefully we will not lose electricity for a week. Hopefully it gives us a nice blanket for Christmas, skiing, snowmobiling and whatever else winter is supposed to be.

I want to offer to all of our friends using Facebook a 10% dicount from now until the new year. Just mention that you received this notice on Facebook. If you want to share this with your friends, do so.

Facebook is so perfect for The Bake Shoppe because our customers really are our friends. Baking and the aroma of baking reminds me of my mother and all of the baking she did for her family.

Holiday Breads!

12/10/2012

I am not really a very good business man. I hate marketing. I do not like going out and trying to sell myself or my products. Also, I do not like charging too much. I try to set my price based on what an average income person might be willing to pay. Of course, I also try to see what my actual costs are for ingredients. I grew up in a large family and I want to be affordable to a large segment of the public.

What means the most to me and I hope those working at The Bake Shoppe are the customers and their approval and love of our products (and in directly us. Don't we all want to be loved and accepted?). I have not paid any attention to this page and yesterday, I checked the E-mail for The Bake Shoppe for the first time in about 20 months and I was really shocked that so many people posted such positive and wonderful things about our bakery and our products.

I really love people and our customers are the best. That is not just a saying either. In over five years, we have never checked anyone for ID when taking a check. How many bad checks have we gotten in five years? Zero. Our customers could really be self serve. That is an idea.

Finally, I do not like getting up early in the morning. I get up around 4:30am. Is it really important that the baking be done by 9:00am? I think not. So, if you want it fresh, please call a day ahead and give us until noon to get it out. I really think bakers going to work at midnight is something we need to put an end to.

Thank You.

Paul
