It was not long until Jim and Kay found their customers wanted more – creative, bindery and finishing were quickly added to the service list. Over the last 29 years we have added services and equipment that help us meet our customers needs. Eleven years later Jim and Kay decided it was time to phase into retirement. Their son Dan decided to come back from Seattle, where he, his wife and two children were living to Traverse City to learn the "copy" business in 1993. Dan officially purchased the business in 1999. Thankfully Jim and Kay are still around and help out now and then. Guided by "provide what the customer wants when they want it" mindset The Copy Shop has been the first to offer many "copying" services in Traverse City. The Copy shop was the first to have high speed black and white copies (an amazing 40 copies per minute); the areas first color laser copier. Over the years The Copy Shop has remained a leader in bringing the best equipment to Traverse City and our customers. This allows us to provide the very best in printed products to our customers. The Copy Shop has evolved into a full service shop with the ability to take a project from concept to the end product no matter if it is a bookmark or a full color trifold brochure. We can get your message on almost any kind of paper from plain white to carbonless to the newest product – a no‐tear waterproof paper.
