For 100 years, the Kansas Chamber has championed the principles that make opportunity possible. As we celebrate America's 250th anniversary, we remain committed to driving Kansas Forward for generations to come.

Kansas continues to attract students from across the country, but too many leave after graduation.

Each year, thousands of students come to Kansas for college, yet a significant number do not remain in the state afterward. For every 10 students Kansas brings in, about 5 to 6 leave.

The Kansas Chamber’s 2026 Competitiveness Bluebook highlights a clear challenge. Building a strong workforce is not just about attracting talent, it is about creating the opportunities and environment that encourage them to stay.
