I'M STILL WAITING Remember "Rudy" from my previous post? He's still waiting for his FURever family. I dog sat him this weekend, and he's the sweetest boy. He's been GREAT with my other dogs, and they've played and played. I learned that he loves having a special toy to carry around. He also enjoys being indoors with people and laid with me in the recliner for some people time. We did a "brief" cat check, and while he seems interested in them, it doesn't seem like he's quite ready to live with them without some work. URGENT UPDATE at noon: KANSAS COYOTES Several people familiar with the 190th's status have told 13 News they do *not* believe our Kansas National Guard Airmen were part of either crew. // It is NOT clear if a refueling tanker from the Kansas National Guard's 190th Refueling Wing is involved in the mid-air accident that killed all 6 crew members over Iraq yesterday. U.S. Central Command will not release their names, nor say what unit they are with until 24 hours after family is notified. However, in a photo posted by Centcom just hours before the accident, you can clearly read "Coyotes" painted on a plane. Centcom has made NO direct connection between the photos posted previously and their later release that a KC 135 tanker had gone done.

I'M *BACK*!!! Some of you have wondered why I was out all of last week. The reality is that I was basically bedridden with severe back pain. The docs don't think the cause is necessarily serious, but they're working to rule things out and find the source. Saturday I got a shot with a safe, albeit big enough dose for a horse to kickstart an anti-inflammatory response. That's allowed me to be back where I belong: on WIBW, 13 News This Morning and AM Extra with Jared and WIBW Reina Flores. I'm still in serious but now bearable, manageable pain. Ironically, I now have a new symptom that I had a reprieve from for a week... my pain in the 🍑... WIBW Reina Flores. ;-)

BOTTOMS UP It's against company policy to drink on the job. However, needing to get through a 2-hour morning show without hacking up a lung with one of my epic coughing fits is one of the rare exceptions. (Note: Only legal, over-the-counter cough suppressant and throat lozenges were consumed in the making of this post. Additionally, I don't drink, so there's that.)
