On this 60th anniversary of the devastating 1966 tornado in Topeka, I’m humbled to have spent a few moments with legendary broadcaster Bill Kurtis. Mr. Kurtis is credited with helping save many lives that fateful night through his live updates on WIBW and for uttering the phrase “For God’s sake take cover”.
