Today, we honor the Americans who gave their lives in service to this country.
Memorial Day is not just the start of summer. It’s a reminder of the sacred sacrifice carried by military families across our country. It’s about the men and women who never made it home, and the loved ones who carry that loss every day.
As a veteran myself, this day means a great deal to me personally.
I want to thank the service members currently serving overseas and away from their families today. We owe them our gratitude, our respect, and a government worthy of their sacrifice.
