My father was my mentor. His name was James E. Wells. He taught me important principles in life, including that you needed to work hard to achieve your goals and to respect people, even if they are different than you. He was a practicing lawyer for years and became a judge in Municipal Court. Upon his retirement as Municipal Court judge he became a pro tem judge in District Court. My father passed away 8 years ago, but I still think of him and remember the things he taught me.
