A Washington, D.C. redevelopment project needed to support new 98-kip column loads on foundations inside a 100-year-old subterranean structure. Pre-injection plate load testing said the ground couldn’t handle it — 1.38 inches of settlement at design load.

A deep excavation project in Pelham, NY had a neighbor problem: an occupied 3-story building immediately next door, with the water table well above subgrade. Dewatering without groundwater control meant risking settlement beneath the adjacent foundation.

URETEK installed a chemical grout curtain to control inflow while protecting groundwater levels outside the excavation. Rising-head testing confirmed performance. Monitoring wells tracked settlement throughout.
