I believe too many activists are trying to benefit from the situation in Ferguson Missouri. The truth is that Law-enforcement have been buying used military surplus to assist them for years. For many years police have found themselves outgunned and unprotected in response to protecting the citizens of this country. I can name at least four active shooter situations where the first responders were outgunned and critics showed concerns about the lack of protection and response.

Bulletproof jackets, shotguns with rubber bullets, riot batons and armored vehicles are necessary tools of protection and safety that is required for the officers. They will either buy it at a discount price from the military or purchase it brand-new from the company that manufactures it - sounds like a waste and abuse of tax dollars.

It is 2014 and it is getting harder and harder to protect our police officers and the community they serve against violent crimes.

Let's not go back in time - two cases for example was the FBI Miami shootout that was a gun battle that occurred on April 11, 1986 between multiple FBI agents and two heavily-armed and well-trained gunmen. And on February 28, 1997 -The North Hollywood shootout was an armed confrontation between two heavily armed and armored bank robbers and officers of the Los Angeles Police Department. Eleven police officers and seven civilians were injured before the police gained control of the situation.

I close this post by saying this - we all should be accountable for our actions - Focus on the situation that has occurred and do not make a mountain out of a molehill - personal or political gain should never be in question.

Forgiveness From the Heart - But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:12

Choosing to forgive is hard. It’s not easy to forgive; it goes against a person's natural tendency and pride. When you’ve been hurt, it’s not easy to let go of the hurt or move past it. How many times have you said I don't feel like forgiving them. It is not something you have to feel like doing. You don't even have to wait until they ask for forgiveness or acknowledge that they’ve done anything wrong.

Forgiveness is not just words it must truly come from your heart. Have you ever heard the words "I'm sorry" but you really know that they were just words said without true meaning? I call this a surface apology.... There are two types of apologies - The first is one asking with his mind and flesh and the other from his heart. The question of the day is when you asked for forgiveness from your father in heaven do you want it to be from his flesh or his heart? Throughout His word it clearly tells us that He is a God of love and forgiveness. In Colossians 3:13 He tells us "Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others."
