On our final day we experienced some of The Netherlands most iconic traditions!
Our morning began with a visit to a local farm that specializes in gouda cheese and clog making! The farmer was so funny and is only one of 4 clog makers in The Netherlands! He kept calling Ms. Robertson “happy teacher lady from Texas” and made her stand at the front and answer questions!!!
After exploring a local market and enjoying lunch, we spent the afternoon seeing Amsterdam from a canal cruise. We learned about Amsterdam’s rich history, unique architecture, and how the canal system has earned the city its nickname, the “Venice of the North.”
We then enjoyed free time to explore the city! We had some peddle boating in the canal, visiting souvenir shops, touring Our Lord in the Attic Museum, and attending Mass in a beautiful Cathedral!
After dinner we stayed in the city to cheer on The Netherlands in the World Cup!!! Crazy that they were playing back home in Houston!!! We have had such an amazing trip but I think we are all missing Texas! Wish us safe travels and we will be home soon 💙💛✈️

Today was all about experiencing Dutch agriculture from the field to the farm!
We started the morning with a visit to a beautiful tulip farm near Amsterdam, where we were welcomed with coffee, tea, fresh pastries, and a delicious farm-to-table lunch. Throughout the tour, we learned how tulip bulbs are harvested, processed, and carefully stored!
Next, we visited a garlic farm and toured the facility where freshly harvested garlic is cleaned and stored before making its way to consumers.
Our final agricultural stop brought us to a dairy farm, where we learned about calf care, herd management, and the impressive technology used in modern dairy production. We watched robotic milking machines in action and got close up with the cows!
We then explored Zaanse Schans, one of the Netherlands’ most iconic destinations and a perfect introduction to traditional Dutch culture. This open-air heritage village offers a glimpse into the 18th and 19th centuries, when wind-powered industries helped make the Netherlands one of the world’s leading trading nations.
We enjoyed a delicious farm dinner! It may have been the favorite dinner of the trip!!! Finally, some of us went into Amsterdam city center to watch the World Cup, shop, and explore!!!
