This week we honor the legacy of Dr. Ida Gray Nelson Rollins and recognize her remarkable achievements as one of the first African American women to earn a degree in dentistry. She made incredible strides in her career, becoming the first African American woman to own a dental practice in Cincinnati and Chicago.

Dr. Rollins commitment to her patients and community was unmatched. She was known for providing top-quality dental care to her patients, regardless of their background or financial situation. Not only was she a pioneer in her field, but Dr. Rollins was a passionate advocate for women's rights and encouraged young women to pursue science careers.

The National Association of Colored Women is a testament to her life's work, and we thank her for her tireless efforts in advocating for civil rights and equal opportunities. Her commitment to her field and dedication to equality for all women live on in her memory and serve as an inspiration for generations to come.

All Scale IT would like to raise awareness of African American persons' many contributions to our society. We honor and respect their dedication and perseverance in the overall health of our society.

In honor of this month, we would like to recognize three African American Dentists who successfully overcame oppression and revolutionized the dental industry.

Every Monday, we will share a brief history of one of the following Doctors.

- Dr. Robert Tanner Freeman (1846-1873)
- Dr. George Franklin Grant (1846 - 1910)
- Dr. Ida Gray Nelson Rollins (1867-1953)
