ildren. I have also added a new artwork option for women who are expecting and would like a keepsake designed on a plaster belly cast. These may consist of baby room designs, boy/girl artwork, hand and foot prints, etc. The cast must be at least 24 hours from when it was applied and completely dry. I do not offer the option to apply the cast myself; only design artwork on it. I use tempera paints which are non-toxic colorful paints that keep the design bright and colorful throughout the 3-4 weeks of healing time. A typical design session takes approximately 45 minutes including drying time. The paints I use dry fairly quickly. What you can expect in a session:
~ I prefer to draw the artwork on paper first to make sure it will fit properly on the curve of the cast.
~ I then draw the design in pencil to make sure the client likes it and can have the opportunity to add or change anything before the paint is applied.
~ I then apply the color.
