The first SikhWorks project was a resounding success! Thanks to the Tampa Sangat, there were over 60 volunteers who participated in a project with Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County.
Over 2 days of hard work and sweat, the Sikh community of Tampa helped with 4 homes that will be available to deserving families. Through a shared vision of helping those in need, SikhWorks was able to join together with Habitat for Humanity and make a difference in the lives of others.
Beyond the service component, kids and adults had fun in the sun and lots of laughs as the days went by.
The hope is with the completion of this project, the Tampa Sikh community will continue their service towards others with regular projects throughout the year. Getting involved in local communities not only makes a difference to those in need but provides an opportunity for the community to witness the Guru’s message of love for humanity in action.
We sincerely thank all those involved in collaborating and participating in this project and look forward to working on many more in the future.
