JUST PUPPIES‼️ FIVE MONTHS OLD‼️💔

Altair, Lyra, and Nash were surrendered to the shelter with their mom Bella and their other siblings Astra and Rigel. Rigel and Astra have been adopted, but Bella and these three babies are still in need of help ASAP!

🚨 Lyra – 5-month-old female; 20 pounds
➡️ Lyra is sweet and a little reserved. She loves human affection and was social with all the dogs in playgroup, but she also likes to have a safe place to relax and cool down. She likes the kiddie pool and is the most vocal of the 3 puppies. She’s not loud, she just whines quietly to express her feelings. She’s a kind, sensitive soul!

🚨 Altair – 5-month-old male; 12 pounds
➡️ Teeny tiny Altair is the runt of the litter. He’s about half the size of his siblings, but it doesn’t stop him! He is full of joy and loves to run with no destination in mind. Just for the fun of it! He is very affectionate with people, likes to be cradled like a baby and picked up. His favorite place is right by a person’s side! He did well with all the other dogs in playgroup and is dog social, but if he would always find his way back to a person’s lap.

🚨 Nash – 5-month-old male; 18 pounds
➡️ Nash is the only puppy without a deadline. He can receive a 72 hour notice at any time, but we would really rather he find a home now!
➡️ Nash is the boss of his litter and fits right in with the big dogs. He can run and play with the best of them! He’s got a big personality and had so much fun playing with his friends! When he needed to take a break, he would go find Lyra and lay with her. He loves people, too, but he wouldn’t stay with us for long because he was having so much fun playing!

Update 7/7: adopted 🥰

Update 7/6: pending adoption

🚨LOKI SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA FRIDAY 7/10 @ 11AM FOR SPACE🚨

Loki is a gentle 3-year-old Great Dane who is struggling to adjust to the shelter after losing his home (and was it ever really a home??).

When DAS found Loki and another dog wandering in the street, his owner explained they belonged to them and was trying to transport them to the shelter. During the encounter, Loki bit his owner’s leg, though it did not break the skin, and both dogs were surrendered in the field. Must’ve been terrified of the owner.

Since arriving, Loki has shown himself to be a quiet, cautious boy who seems overwhelmed by everything happening around him. Rather than barking or acting aggressively, he tends to retreat to the back of his kennel and watch from a distance. Staff describe him as alert, but timid, and while he will allow a slip leash to be placed on him carefully, he’s so frightened that he pancakes on the leash after just a few steps and refuses treats or encouragement. He isn’t shutting people out.. he simply doesn’t know how to cope with such a stressful environment.

Loki also has a small growth on the left side of his nose that appears to have bled in the past and will need to be monitored.

This gentle giant needs a patient adopter, foster, or rescue willing to give him the time, consistency, and reassurance he needs to regain his confidence. The shelter is no place for a sensitive dog like Loki, and every extra day here makes it harder for him to come out of his shell.

Update 7/4: pending adoption

🚨CLIFFORD SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA 7/4 @ 11AM FOR SPACE🚨

Clifford is a handsome young boy who has been misunderstood because the shelter is simply too overwhelming for him. Like many dogs struggling with kennel stress, he can seem intimidating behind the kennel door, but once he’s outside, an entirely different dog begins to emerge.

Staff have observed Clifford barking and lunging when approached in his kennel, but by taking things slowly, they were able to leash him without issue. Once outside, he completely relaxed, calmly explored the yard, accepted pets, and ignored nearby dogs that were barking at him. Rather than reacting, he chose to quietly sniff around and enjoy being out of the noisy shelter environment.

Clifford also seems to do well with other dogs once he’s given time to adjust. In playgroup, he was initially timid and unsure of both dogs and handlers, but as his confidence grew, he became social and even showed interest in playing. Volunteers describe him as an energetic boy who enjoys sniffing, exploring, and having fun, though he could benefit from some leash training and continued confidence building outside the shelter.

His medical exam was even delayed because he was so overwhelmed. That alone speaks to how much stress he’s carrying every day. Clifford doesn’t need more time behind kennel bars.. he needs a patient hero willing to let him decompress and discover what life feels like outside the shelter.

With a little patience and understanding, Clifford has every opportunity to become a wonderful companion. He just needs someone willing to see past the kennel door.

Clifford
• Intact Male (DAS will fix), ~2 years, 65 lbs
• Heartworm negative, vaxxed, dewormed, microchipped, on prevention

My favorite girl in the shelter: Wiggles 🥹

Wiggles was foster-to-adopted mid-June but was recently returned. Sadly, while she LOVES children, she doesn’t know her size. The adopters’ toddler got excited, so Wiggles got excited with him. She bounced on him and nipped his ear, so they brought her back and she served a bite quarantine. Wiggles didn’t mean to hurt anybody, but she will need some guidance on how to properly interact with small children, as she’s just a baby herself!

We named Wiggles for (probably) exactly the reason you think. When you approach her kennel, her whole body wiggles with excitement. She immediately won my heart with her gentle nature and for all the ways that she is so brave even when the world is very scary.

Wiggles has come a long way. Originally, she wouldn’t even walk. She froze and peed herself and flopped around like a fish to get from place to place. Now, she walks on leash with encouragement and is amazing in playgroup! She’s even brave enough to test out the splash pad!!

Wiggles is still nervous but is also very submissive in behavior. She is eager to please, likes affection, and is VERY treat motivated. She loves treats and will be brave for a good snack!

This sweet girl needs a patient handler that is committed to helping Wiggles build her confidence and become more socialized and well-adjusted. She deserves the chance!

🐶 Wiggles is a playgroup rockstar! She coexisted well with other dogs, is not pushy, and is playful with other playful dogs! She is also very tolerant and has taken corrections well!

EXTENSIONS UNIKELY‼️

🤗🫶Meet Oberon🫶🤗

I love this cinnamon swirl block head!!! Oberon is so much fun to hang out with. He LOVED chewing on the ball but was very respectful when it broke and I had to take it away from him. This confident boy rolled around in the pool to cool off and gave me so many kisses! Oberon is so friendly and excited to meet new people. With medium energy, he isn’t a couch potato but you won’t be struggling to keep up with his exercise needs. Oberon is one of those amazing shelter dogs with such a good temperament, he only needs someone to give him a chance. You will fall in love with him if you go meet him!

✏️ Shelter notes: Sweet boy, tested well with female. Enjoys pets.

🐶 Dog Friendly: Oberon seems to be neutral towards dogs and has the potential to exist peacefully. Slow introductions over weeks, not hours or days, will help him develop a strong doggy friendship with your resident dog.

Please keep in mind:
*All dogs need slow intros and time to decompress
*Dogs or a 10+ year commitment
*Kids should never be left unattended or allowed to bother dogs, but especially shelter dogs!
*Volunteers are available to help! We want adoptions to succeed so please message one of us if you feel like you need guidance!!

🐾 Unaltered Male, neuter included with adoption
⚖️ Weight: 70 lbs
🕰️ Age: 4 years
