Happy Birthday Mr. James Jack Hadley! 🎂🎉
Yesterday, family, friends, and community members gathered at Providence Missionary Baptist Church to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Mr. James "Jack" Hadley, founder of the Jack Hadley Black History Museum.
Rather than a traditional birthday program, the Hadley family presented a moving Musical Tribute featuring a collection of Traditional Negro Spirituals and special selections that reflected Mr. Hadley's faith, heritage, and life's journey.
Songs such as Go Down, Moses, Wade in the Water, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, Soon Ah Will Be Done, I'll Fly Away, and Somebody's Knocking at Your Door filled the sanctuary with messages of hope, perseverance, freedom, and faith values that have guided Mr. Hadley throughout his remarkable life.
The program included scripture, poetry, musical selections, community tributes, special honors, and heartfelt performances by family members, church choirs, musicians, and friends who came together to celebrate a man whose life's work has been dedicated to preserving African American history and educating future generations.
As the songs echoed through the church, they served as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and faith of those who came before us. The song selections represented the rich history that Mr. Hadley has spent a lifetime preserving.
One of the most powerful aspects of the celebration was that the music told Mr. Hadley's story. Through the Negro Spirituals, guests experienced a journey through African American history, faith, struggle, perseverance, and triumph. This is the very history he has devoted his life to preserving.

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday and supported such a phenomenal event! Special thanks to Gloria Glass for organizing an outstanding forum. The turnout was amazing, and the Q&A session was both engaging and insightful.
The audience was a great representation of Thomasville, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with and hear her platform and vision in person.
Joshua Glass was especially impressive as the moderator. It was inspiring to witness a young man confidently navigate a conversation with a political leader such as the former Mayor of Atlanta. Joshua did an amazing job leading the discussion, engaging the audience, and representing the community with professionalism and poise.
Special thanks to Lucinda Brown, Mayor Pro Tem, Rev. Jeremy Rich, the County Commissioner, the Democratic Party, and Rev. Andrew Jones, Pastor of Rebecca Missionary Baptist Church for your support.
We also could not have navigated this event without the incredible support of the Keisha Lance Bottoms campaign team. They were phenomenal, attentive, organized, and resourceful throughout the entire event. Their professionalism and dedication helped make this event a tremendous success.
Special thank you to the vendors who helped make this event such a success: Audgra Arrington with Arrington Catering Service, Q’Musik Production, and Over The Hills Balloons. Your professionalism, creativity, and dedication added so much to the atmosphere and experience of the event. We truly appreciate your support and outstanding service.
Thank you again to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make this event a success for Thomasville.
