This week in Albany, we demanded an end to the systemic abuses that harm New Yorkers every day.

Alongside impacted people, advocates, elected officials and other organizations, we lobbied for sentencing reform with the Community Not Cages Coalition, called on the Legislature to pass New York For All and Dignity Not Detention to safeguard New Yorkers from Trump’s mass deportation agenda, and demanded an end to non-consensual drug testing of pregnant people and newborns in our state through The Maternal Heath and Dignity Act.

If passed, these bills would transform lives by keeping people harmful systems in the first place.
