Today we celebrate the 47th Anniversary of Pregones!

Founded in 1979 by a group of artists led by Rosalba Rolón, Pregones was created to develop new works in the tradition of Caribbean and Latin American colectivos, or performing ensembles. Today, we honor Pregones' co-founders Rosalba Rolón, David Crommett, and the late and forever missed Luis I. Meléndez.

For nearly five decades, Pregones has created original theater, amplified Puerto Rican and Latiné voices, and built community through the arts.

We celebrate the founders, artists, staff, audiences, and supporters who have been part of this journey. Thank you for keeping our flame burning bright for 47 incredible years. 🔥❤️

Experience HOPE-MADE BREAD “una historia sobre Las Patronas” at Pregones Theater this weekend! 🎭

HOPE-MADE BREAD is a contemporary dance work inspired by the women of Las Patronas, whose decades-long commitment to supporting migrants traveling through Mexico has become a powerful symbol of solidarity and compassion.

Performed by three Latina dancers, the piece reflects on migration, hope, sacrifice, and the bonds that connect communities across borders. Through movement and storytelling, the work honors the transformative power of care in the face of uncertainty and adversity.
