Learn to Program Your Own GameBoy Console Event:
On Thursday March 1st, Computer Science Society invited Mr. Ted Kotz, a Senior Engineer at Harris, to teach our members how to program a virtual game onto a miniature gaming system called Arduboy. Club members did this through a computer software called Arduino. Computer Science Society Eboard members distributed Arduboy's to the club members for their use during the event (and gave them the opportunity to sign out an Arduboy for personal use at the end of the meeting). Mr. Kotz displayed a game he created himself called Froggy Toad (similar to iPhone App Crossy Road) and proceeded to introduce Arduboy programming in C++ to the Computer Science Society.

For more information on Arduboy programming or signing out an Arduboy from CSS please contact: [email protected]

Build Your Own Website Workshop:
On Thursday March 15th, Computer Science Society hosted a web design event where Walt Disney Software Engineer Zakiya Sims came to Fordham University and explained HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to the club. Zakiya started off by introducing HTML, the basic foundation of creating a website. Then moved on to CSS, mostly used for the color, design, and aesthetic of a website. Finally, she talked about JavaScript and JQuery, which can be used to make your website more interactive and in-depth. After Zakiya finished teaching, she gave our club members the opportunity to start creating their own website, while she walked around and gave assistance and ideas to anyone who needed it.

If you are interested in creating a new website for Computer Science Society, please email [email protected] for more details!! There will be prizes (:
