As families gear up for Fourth of July festivities, it is important to follow proper safety practices with fireworks to prevent holiday injuries. Fireworks can turn dangerous quickly, so there are a few key things to keep in mind: avoid using them while under the influence, never hold them in your hand, never light them indoors or multiple at a time, buy from licensed, reputable vendors and maintain a safe distance once they are lit. Sparklers are among the biggest hazards for kids, so close supervision and protective footwear are encouraged.
