This is YOUR birth. Not your friend’s, or your sisters, or your sister-in-law. Take charge of your story.

There is a lot of freedom in saying “ I chose this birth”. Whether it’s a homebirth, or a fully medicated hospital birth. If you are making informed decisions about what kind of birth you want, then be proud of that story.

I fully understand however sometimes births do not go the way we planned. And that’s OK. If you were wanting a unmedicated birth at the hospital and ended up with an epidural, that’s OK. If you were planning a homebirth and you ended up having to go to the hospital for something, that doesn’t make you any less of a good mom.

There’s a lot of freedom you have with your own birth story. One of the first things you can do is learning to grow from it.
